Month: March 2020

YES! We are OPEN!

As you have seen daily this crisis is evolving. Federal and State governments issuing new orders and recommendations constantly and everyone is trying to keep up with all of the changes and as business owners, make decisions in the best interest of their employees and public safety. We are a small business. When you walk through this door, there is a 98% chance it’s me who you will see, we don’t have employees. There is also a really good chance you’ll have the place to yourself. We don’t have crowds or lines and our foot traffic is low even in normal circumstances. We have a workspace here so even when no one is here, I’m working hard to fill your orders making things onsite so we are choosing to stay open as long as the state allows to service those who may want to stop-in.

We are home to 17 local artisans and small businesses all trying to keep their businesses afloat as well. All of their events from March through May and maybe longer have been cancelled. If they can’t get their products in front of customers, they have zero income. And right now those of us Self-employed are not eligible for unemployment or any relief so as we wait I personally want to help as many of these businesses as I can and being here is a way I can do that. So if you are brave enough to head out to Kroger, Walmart, or Target feel free to make a quick detour and stop-in.

If you are at home you can help too! You can browse our Facebook page and see a lot of what is in-store and either call or message us about ordering. You can also shop online at www.giftsbyjc.com 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We ship everywhere in the US and offer FREE Local Pick-up. We’ll even do curbside pick-up for orders if you don’t want to come in and if you are close by, we can even deliver if needed. We may not be able to celebrate with big parties and events at the moment, but there are still birthdays, anniversaries, new babies, graduates, or even friends that could use a pick me up or maybe in your cabin fever boredom you want to redecorate and we are here, still making & creating and would love your support. We are working on adding items to the website daily so please check back often as it will be growing and if you are looking for something specific, just reach out and ask! Almost all of our artisans take custom orders and we love special requests.

We don’t know how long this is going to last and if you are able, we encourage you to continue to support as many local businesses as you can. There won’t be any bailouts for most of us and our customers will be our lifeline so please shop online, call in orders, and take advantage of all those curbside and carryout services now available. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We Are Open & Need Your Support!

This is a very scary time for our country and especially for all of us small business owners trying to figure out how to weather this storm. So if you are able, we need your help! Our little shop is home to 18 Artisans and Small Business Owners, all of which are going to be hit hard in this crisis and so over the next few weeks and months we are asking that you still shop if you are able. As of right now the shop will be open our normal hours unless we are instructed otherwise but we also have a full service website that you can shop from online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I will be diligently working over the next week or so to get some of our in-store only items added to our already wide selection online to help you find exactly what you need. Until then if you need something specific that you don’t see onsite, please reach out. We currently offer free local pickup and do ship nationwide and can even handle some local delivery requests as needed.

You can also call and connect with us during shop hours to inquire about products and custom orders and we are always available through our social media accounts on both Facebook & Instagram to take orders and answer questions. We are doing all we can to make it easy for you to order and ask that you’d consider supporting our small business and others like ours vs the big box stores and larger shipping retailers. As this situation progresses store hours may change so please follow-us on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

We know funds may be tight for all and shopping is just not possible but you can also help us by simply sharing our social media posts and filling out reviews for us on Facebook, Yelp, and Google. The more we can get our site and info out there the more connections we can make and every customer matters. We appreciate each and everyone of you and hope to continue to service you all over the next few months and many years to come.

Turning Childhood Memories Into Treasured Keepsakes

Over 50 years ago a loving father sitting in his workshop set out to create a gift for his children. He picked the wood, made the cuts, sanded, carved and stained until he had a beautiful finished game board for them. It was coined “The Marble Game” and over the years it became a family tradition. Countless hours of fun and laughter shared around the board, more than he could probably ever have imagined. As the years passed the family grew and each moved on to start their own families, but when they came together, The Marble Game was played.

Knowing how much much their family enjoyed the game, his daughter came to us with a hope that we could help her keep this tradition going with their ever growing family. Her father has passed and she thought what a wonderful tribute to him it would be to make a replicate game board for her family members so they can each have their own and play the game with their children and grandchildren for many years to come and we were happy to oblige.

We took great care in replicating his beautiful work, creating 6 new game boards for each of her loved ones. As we worked the project I was reminded of the many nights my family gathered around my grandma’s table rolling the dice and moving the marbles as we played a hot game of Aggravation! Grandpa rolling out of turn, Grandma scolding him, Dad, Uncle Jay, and Uncle Jim finding way too much enjoyment sending my last marble back home to try again. Some of my fondest childhood memories were around a game board with my family and we were honored to be able to create a treasured keepsake that captured our clients favorite memories of her father and family.

This project is a perfect example of what we strive to do here at JC Boutique. Creating unique and personal gifts that come from the heart, handmade made just for you and your loved ones. Weddings, new babies, memorials, anniversaries, & more we help turn your favorite memories into treasured keepsakes!
